Abstracts and presentations

The majority of the conference schedule will be filled with presentations from the community, including oral presentations, posters, computer visualizations and demos , and lightning talks.

 

How to submit

You must be logged on the GCC2017 website to be able to submit an abstract. If you do not have a sciencesconf.org account yet, please create one here. You can acces the submission form in "My Space" > "My Submissions".

Access

The Galaxy community is dedicated to the principles of open access, and will make all GCC presentations available online after the conference. By submitting an abstract you:

  • Agree to make your slides/posters freely available online no later than 1 August 2017.
  • Agree to have your presentations videotaped and made publicly available during and/or after the conference

 

Oral presentations

Accepted talks will be presented during the meeting. Talks will take 20 minutes. The meeting is single track and talks will be presented to all attendees. The submission deadline fooral submission is extended to 29 April.

 

Poster presentations

All posters will be visible for the full two days of the meeting. Poster content can overlap with content presented in other formats at the meeting. The submission deadline foposter submission is 27 May.

Posters will be A0 Portrait, which is 1189 x 841 millimeters (or 46.81 x 33.11 inches).

 

Visualization and computer demonstration presentations

These sessions run concurrently and are co-located with the poster sessions. Content can complement oral presentations or posters. If both a poster and related demo are presented, they are presented concurrently.

The Galaxy community is dedicated to open source principles and all featured software must be released under an open source license. Information about the software’s license must be included in the abstract.

Demos are run on the presenter’s laptop.

Lightning talks

Not yet ready to present your work in a 20-minute presentation? You can still share your work! Lightning talks are short, focused presentations (5-7 minutes) featuring topics submitted by conference participants. They are presented in sessions in the second half of each day and have been a highlight of every GCC.  The submission deadline folightning talk submission is 23 June.
